This is my second bowl which is 3 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. I used green glaze on the outside and then blue glaze on the inside. The brown glaze on the rim of the bowl helps the other two colors pop out more. The one thing I learned with this bowl is the significance of adding multiple layers of glaze so that there are no rough spots. The color of the brown glaze around the rim of the bowl helps show great contrast between the green glaze on the outside and the blue glaze on the inside. This time I also made sure that there wasn't any glaze within a half inch or so of the foot ring. This helped produce a much cleaner and well designed bowl. The importance of this bowl is that the earthly colors help remind anyone who sees it of there favorite camping memories or the last time they went hiking. In other words, it helps people remember the outdoors.

This is my group coil project which is 8 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. We made a pencil holder for Mr. Meserve with yellow glaze and dark brown for the eraser and top of the pencil. I learned the importance of glazing with an even layer so that the glaze doesn’t run down the side and alter the appearance of the project. The balance of the right sized (shaped) coils helps give the correct size to the pencil, making it more appealing and easy to understand the overall meaning behind the project. The importance of this project is that it is a pencil holder that looks like a pencil.
This is my first bowl which is about 2.5 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The main glaze is white, but there are brush strokes of dark green on the outside and light green glaze dripped down the inside creating an interesting effect as the two glazes blend together. I learned the importance of rounding the edge of the bowl with a sponge so that you give it that smooth, professional looking finish. The green lines of glaze on the white glaze create a sense of balance because each lines covers about the same area on the bowl. This bowl is significant because it reminds me of all the green and white color I see around my bedroom.
This is my tall cylinder which I glazed with light green and yellow on the outside and black on the inside. It is 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. I tried to blend the yellow and green glaze on the outside to create a more interesting appearance so that there is not a single color with no attempt at any design. The darker glaze on the inside helps the cylinder to appear deeper in size. This project helped me remember some of the skills that I had used two years ago when I first took ceramics and I also learned more about choking the project to keep the wall more vertical. This cylinder has great contrast because of the way the lighter color on the outside stands out from the dark, black glaze on the inside. This cylinder is significant because the way that the green and yellow glaze are similar in color to the area we live in today.
