This is my 6 inch wide by 4 inches tall hand and wheel project which I glazed with white on the base of the project and blue lines on the inside. On the outside I used some dark green glaze on the pieces of clay that I added to the bowl. The most important thing that I learned when making this project is how to make something on the wheel that is the correct shape and size to add whatever clay I feel is necessary on the outside. The blue lines (color) on the inside help show an interesting pattern because of the size and shape of them. The most important thing about this project is that it is unique in terms of its shape and design.

This is my set of three project which I glazed half and half with blue and green glaze. They all are about 6 inches tall and 6 inches wide at the top of the bowls. I like the way the glazed merge to create a new and interesting color. The one thing I learned when making this project is how to creat 3 projects that are similar size and have similar shape. I tried to remember what technique I used for each so that I could duplicate it on another project. The two colors used throughout this project shows a nice pattern because of the way that they are all evenly glazed with blue and green glaze. The most important thing about these three bowls is that they look exactly the same and can serve the same purpose at home or wherever they are placed.
These are my two plates which are about 6 inches wide and less than an inch tall (obviously because it’s a plate). Both are glazed half and half with blue and green glaze. The thing that I like the most about these two plates is that they are great appetizer plates for Seahawks games because of there color and size. The one thing I learned when making these two plates is how to press down the clay and pull out a small lip to make the plates. Where the two glazed meet, the colors contrast in in a way that shows a new design and also an interesting appearance. The shine of the glaze also shows a different look and feel in every form of light because of the way the light reflects off them. The most important thing about these plates is that they make great plates for appetizers when watching a Seahawks game or any Seattle game.
This is my 6 inches wide by 3.5 inches tall large bowl. The base glaze used was white and then I splattered the blue glaze around the inside and outside of the bowl. The skill that I learned while making this is how to maintain the shape of the bowl while pulling the wall really wide for this project. The blue glaze splattered all over the white base glaze of the bowl created an uneven pattern that is appealing because of the way that glaze is different on every portion of the bowl. My favorite part about this bowl is that the white base helps it fit into any modern environment because of the white base and light blue glaze.
This is my 5 inch tall by 4 inches wide tall project which I glazed with the new Sydney blue glaze. The new skill that I learned with this project is how to pull the wall more vertical to make the project taller. I figured out that I was applying more pressure on the inside of the project when pulling the wall which caused the project to be more wide. I tried applying more pressure on the outside when pulling the wall and this helped me create a much more vertical project. The glaze (color) left some interesting little dots around the project which added a sense of texture because of the bumpy appearance yet smooth when you feel it. The best part about this project is the simplicity of it because it is all one color. It is not too wild in appearance yet it still catches the eye when glanced at.
This is my 5 and a half inch wide by 4 inches tall large bowl. I glazed this bowl with light green on one half and dark blue on the other half. I also added a line of brown glaze on the inside. One new skill that I learned when making this bowl is how to throw with more clay. At first, it was difficult for me to center this much clay. Once I figured it out, I realized there was more room for error when pulling the wall because you have more clay to work with. The contrast between the two main glazes in this bowl help show a good balance between the two colors. The significance of this bowl is that it is the perfect size and shape for eating cereal out of it or soup.
This is my 5 inch wide by 4 inches tall bowl which I glazed with blue on the outside and green glaze on the inside. I choose to make a bowl for my choice project because it is the type of project that I can make the best. A bowl also can be used for eating out of as apose to a vase which is more for looks. One skill that I learned when making this bowl is the importance of compressing the lip. Most of my recent projects were slightly thin up top which could’ve caused problems when firing, but luckily they turned out fine. The smooth rounded lip at the top of the bowl helps show a nice contrast from the blue glaze on the outside to the green glaze on the inside. The importance of this project is that it fits well into a game day spread for holding a some chips or other snacks during the Seahawks games because of its color.
This is our frankenpot which is 5 and half inches tall and 4 inches wide. I made the base of this project, Chloe made the middle, and LJ made the top. We glazed it with blue and green on the outside with some black glaze on the inside. With this project I learned how to attach multiple cylinders together on a wheel as well as making each cylinder all the same size so that they can attach. The slight increase in width (shape) from the bottom to the top helps make the colors of the glaze more appealing as it brings your attention to each layer of the project. The significance of this project is that it shows how multiple people can combine projects to make something even better.
This is my blue and green lidded project which is 4 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The main skill that I learned when making this is how to have two projects be made to a certain width. This skill allows you to create a lid for something of a certain size. The contrast of color in this project helps provide a sense of interest as the colors are very appealing and remind people of there favorite Seattle sports teams. The significance of this lidded project is that it has a nice pattern with the blue and green glaze. It also reminds me the Seahawks because the similarities in color.
This is my half dark green, half light green, cup with a pulled handle. It is 3 inches tall and 5 inches wide. The new skill that I learned to create this project was the patient process of pulling the handle. I learned how important it was to get the handle to the right shape and thickness before attaching it to the cylinder part of the project. The contrast of the two different shades of green help show a simple yet intriguing design because of its simplicity. The feeling generated when viewing this project is a very satisfied feeling as you can imagine yourself drinking something warm from it.
